September was an explosive month for most of us, and while October will prove to be life-altering as well it hopefully will offer a little more insight and stability for us all.  The month of October always has the influence of 1, or 10 depending on whom you ask, so it is the full circle which completes the cycle for the year.  We start off at one, end at 9 and begin anew for a few months while we prepare to transition into the new year.  Being a Universal 4 Year we also have the influence of the 5 at this time, along with the Sun being in Libra and a New Moon in Libra as well.

What does all of this mean?  It means that while we are in a sign that regulates relationships and communication skills we are also working on our individuality, the need for freedom and adventure, and our basic needs to feel secure enough to explore the vast world around us.  We have been grounded in the need for handling our responsibilities and taking things one day at a time in the hum-drum of day-to-day needs this year and now we are looking to break free and have a little fun!  The King of Pentacles asks us to be decisive, practical and responsible but if we ignore his advice we may find ourselves isolating those we care about most by being selfish and reckless instead.  It is one thing to have fun, it is another to bulldoze over those we care most about in the pursuit of our own happiness.  This can be a wonderful time in relationships if we can “live and let live” through giving our spouse/partner the space they need to explore their own desires while we also discover our own needs.  This helps our relationships grow if we are able to become two whole people who come together in a relationship rather than expecting to be two halves of the same whole.

This is the perfect time to rekindle that zest you felt when you were first dating by reigniting the spark and confident care-free nature of our being and use that excitement to re-attract our desire.  Of course, if we are unable or unwilling to flow with the changes in progress and would rather sulk in the past it is likely that you and your partner will split.  Allow the changes to happen, and better yet, be the driving force!  Light your own fire, figure out what will ultimately make you happy and get out there and make it happen!   Of course, be sure to keep your partner in the loop.

This is also a favorable time to go and do something exciting and adventurous, do some traveling or have a romantic stay-cation.  Talk about your dreams, ask questions, and remain supportive of your loved ones.  This can be a majorly positive time in your relationship but if you aren’t liking what you are seeing or are finding yourself left behind or being held back, again, it may be time to walk away.  This is a wonderful growing opportunity for all who are involved, time to dive in head first!  Uranus in Aries is creating a major shift in each one of us while we step into more of who we are.  We may have been ignoring issues or burying our heads just waiting for things to right themselves, well here is our opportunity to make improvements in ourselves and our relationships.

The High Priestess begs us to spend time in meditation and listening to our dreams and intuitions rather that logic or potentially even our emotions.  This may come off as if you are feeling around in the dark, and that is pretty much the gist of it.  Follow your instinct and listen to that inner voice to discover your direction.  Spend some time alone in contemplation, listen to music that makes your heart sing, and do something outside in that beautiful Autumn sun!

For those who are single, worry not, this will still be a pivotal month, but hopefully it won’t feel as dramatic as last month.  This can be a wonderful and exciting time to meet people, step out of your comfort zone and do something exciting!  Take chances and do something you wouldn’t normally consider, you may just surprise yourself.  You may meet someone wonderful this month, and while it has long-term potential, it may fizzle quickly once the excitement wears off.  However, personally I believe that it would be worth it to pursue regardless.  Take chances!

Overall this can prove to be an exciting and revealing month for you and your loved ones.  Try to direct some of the changes and step up to the plate lest you get swept aside or drug along in the undertow.  If we are trying to hold on to what was instead of moving into what is becoming we may just get left behind.  You are being called to have fun, be youthful and enjoy life.  Keep your 9 to 5, but make sure to take time to play with and without your loved ones.  Make sure to respect others’ boundaries, keep up with the day-to-day, but overall take a more relaxed attitude–life can be both fun AND grounded, don’t get swept away following every which whim or opportunity that presents itself and don’t get too caught up in work.  This is the time to create a fine balance between your independence and dependence, work and play, excitement and the usual, sucking it up or letting loose.  If you keep the lines of communication open you can make it through this time and ultimately be much happier for it.

September 2011 Numerology

Here we are in September and we begin to enter the last phase of the year.  In Numerology we consider the period between September and March to be the “cusp” period, much like we do in Astrology with a week before or after the changing of Zodiac signs.  This denotes a period in which we are beginning to end the influence of the current year’s numbers (a waning period) and will soon begin to lay the foundation for the coming year (a waxing/building period, if you will).  Since this year is a 4 Universally, we know that 2012 will be a 5 and we are beginning to feel it’s shift already.  The 4 is often known for being slow and steady, hard-working, and at times a bit tedious, so get ready for fast-paced excitement as we join the energy of the 5!

Things will really get hopping next month (October), so get ready for a bumpy and exciting ride!  If we were on a big roller-coaster, the 4 energy would be like the first big climb *click*click*click* while your heart begins to race in anticipation, you have to be patient and all you can do is sit back and wait.  You know something is coming, but you’re not quite there yet…then you finally reach the top and you feel like you may need a break, or like maybe all that waiting around wasn’t so bad, but it’s too late now!  There’s no turning back as you head over the top and begin the free fall that launches you through the unexpected twists and turns that lie ahead.  All you can do is hold on tight or throw your hands in the air while you ride the wave.   Life is going to speed up dramatically, and just like that roller-coaster you have little or no control so the best thing you can do is just let it happen and try to keep up!

Now, back to September.  This month we have the influence of the 9 (September being the 9th month) and it is Universally a 4 (9+2+0+1+1= 13, 1+3=4).  September is when we harvest our bounty and begin preparations for the winter months.  We must cultivate the land, bring out some of those sweaters and scarves, and enjoy the changing of the leaves.  The Autumnal Equinox falls this month on the 23rd this year, right as we begin Sun in Libra.  Mercury has recently gone Direct and we start the ball rolling again.

This month we must clear out the clutter, reorganize and lay a proper foundation.  This is the time we have to prepare for the coming shift into 2012.  Get everything ready!  Do your Spring cleaning this Fall and make room to be flexible for what is to come.  We are all embodying the Fool (to varying degrees) at this time.  There is a feeling of excitement, hope, and anticipation in the air.  You may be feeling as though you are receiving a second chance or a fresh start, and it may not come in perfect “happy” packaging, rather as a change that you didn’t know you needed.  You are being told to follow your instincts, use your best judgement, and listen to those who are offering advice (unless it falls under the “too good to be true” category).  You may have an angel perched on your shoulder whispering to you the best next move, heed it’s call as the Queen of Cups asks.

The Tower card has come up for the end of the month, alerting us to sweeping changes that may begin as soon as late September or in October.  The Tower is a mighty force to behold as it disintegrates everything in its path.  Your life is about to become vastly different.  Your life as you know it may crumble before you as the falsehoods that were holding it together come crumbling down.  This can appear in many forms for people: seeing the reality of a relationship, something that appears too good to be true, someone’s deceit, your own lies you have been fooling yourself with, and other aspects of your world that are blinding you from what really is.  The veil is dropped and you have no choice but to accept what is.

However the cards may fall, this is for the best.  Nothing built on a lie is worth holding on to.  It may be a rude awakening, but we all might agree that seeing the truth is ultimately necessary.  “I wake to ponder reality, just as I dream to escape it.”.  Time to come out of your slumber.

Keep in mind that not all of the truths we hide from ourselves are negative.  Sometimes our internal nattering is pure poison and upon realizing such we are able to step into the light of our true being.  Take for example a popular quote by Marianne Williamson from A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles :

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Hopefully, these are the lies that are revealed to you and you can finally step into the light of your life and free yourself from the bonds that have been holding you back.  Bonds that you placed on yourself, or bonds that you have allowed others to make you believe you had.  Let go.  Let go of blame.  Let go of fear.  Let go of that which has been holding you hostage and keeping you from reaching your true potential.

This is the time for deep personal transformation.  Once you find acceptance and are able to let go of the idea of  having control, everything will quickly fall into place.

August 2011 Numerology

Well, well, well, we’re finally moving past all of those eclipses from the last two months and into lovely sun in Leo.  Of course, Mercury has a trick up its sleeve as it decides to Retrograde from the 2nd until the end of the month.  This has a conflicting influence on the Numerology for this month.  All three Mercury Rx’s are happening in our fire signs this year, so depending on your chart, they may have a more or less profound effect.  August, being the eighth month, has an overall influence of 8, and in 2011 it resonates with the number 3 as well.

The way I see it this month will either be spectacular for you or very challenging, I don’t see much middle ground here.  Part of it is related to the Karmic influence of the 8, it represents gaining and enjoying your bounty if you have been working hard this 4 year, but it may be a big flop if you have been slacking off and avoiding your responsibilities or if you haven’t been focused in your efforts.  Of course, even if you have been working hard you may discover something was overlooked, so try to take the time to perfect your final draft.   The other chaotic this influence comes from the often dramatic 3, couple this with exuberant Leo and you’ve got a party or a disaster on your hands.

Retrograde periods are periods which allow us to look within and check in with our selves, our goals, aspirations, status quo, and relationships.  In August we have a chance to rekindle the passion or reassess a bad situation.  Due to the communicative nature of Mercury it is not uncommon to have information which has previously been hidden come to light, and with the 3 here, I could see former flames coming into the picture, or new love interests, or some meddling force making itself known.  Perhaps you or your partner have had a wandering eye and now it will come out!  Perhaps you’ve been fine all along, and then some new temptation comes along.  Trust your instincts and keep your wits about you, and remember to discern the difference between love and lust.  What has you feeling that way?  What are you (or your partner) needing that you are not receiving?  What are some fun ways to bring the spark back, or to find new love?  Also consider your own ego and emotional needs, maybe you’ve been too self-involved and needy, or not speaking up about your concerns.  Mull it over and discuss it with your partner, or if you are single, journal about it.

We are getting ready to empty our glass again as the Autumnal Equinox approaches, so use this time wisely to reflect on your passions, love life, ego and all matters of the heart.  At the same time, we have the 8 driving us to seek balance between work and play, the material world and the spiritual, and the Karmic lessons and bounties awaiting us.  Money issues may come up, most likely relating to you or a partner (or another loved one) spending too much time at work or being too spend-thrift/penny-pinching.  You reap what you sow, so if you’ve reigned yourself in this year you may be rewarded with a bonus, and if you have been spending too much you may feel overwhelmed with the bills piling up.

If you must make a purchase or sign a contract during this time make sure to read the fine print, check out the details and do your research.  Be patient, the paperwork may take longer than expected to file, a check to go through, or there may be an error in communication.  Be sure you know what you are getting into.  Or, if you’ve recently made that large purchase you may find little “surprises” about it in the near future.  The good news is that the information will come to light!

So, this month looks to either be passionate, romantic and exciting or be a challenging time where things aren’t quite working out the way you had hoped, people are getting in the way or blowing things out of proportion, and overall a pain.  Some highly transformational months are coming this way, so if life isn’t looking like you had hoped, be prepared for new opportunities!

December Numerology

I’m back on board here with December’s Numerology Forecast, I apologize for skipping November…

December is a 3/6 month with a 12 influence, it suggests family and community will be important during this time, which makes sense with the holiday season.  The 1 and 2 remind us that there is a time to stand your ground and a time to work together.   And with Mercury Retrograde most of the month (beginning on the 10th) it would be wise to hold your tongue and think before you speak lest you be misunderstood.  For some of us the month will bring out insecurities and uncertain feelings while for others it will be a time to shine!  The 3 can really be very optimistic, creative and social although in its worst it can warn us of coming drama, disagreements and the three-is-a-crowd dynamic reigns.  This month will not be a good time (for most) to begin something new, but instead to go back to the drawing board and make sure that your plans are aligning with what is currently possible, work the kinks out.

Also interesting for this month is a Lunar Eclipse on the 21st (in Gemini) and on January 4th we have a Solar Eclipse (in Capricorn) and while the effects of eclipses are often felt for 6 months before and after, the energy spikes during the event.  Gemini rules communication, thought, and duality (plus its ruling planet is Mercury) so there is a double whammy to our communications this month, hopefully it will lead to new outcomes in old arguments and a wonderful new understanding of one-another.  Use this opportunity to gain information and wait before making new decisions or signing important paper-work until all of the facts are in.  The Solar Eclipse will bring the focus to career and finances.  Between the two, you will likely make contacts who can help you on your path to a fulfilling career, and going back to school is a wonderful way to utilize the energy available.  What would you like to change about your current job?  What does your ideal career/lifestyle look like?  How do you feel in your career?  How do you communicate with loved ones, co-workers, friends and how could you improve on negative tendencies?  What would you like to release at this time in regards to communication, thought patterns, arguments, financial difficulties, career, etc.?

Use this powerful time to make changes as we move into the 4 energy of the year 2011.  We shift from overindulgence and spend-thrift tendencies to a more balance-conscious year filled with patience and hard work.   This year is a necessary step in the development of the ideas you set of in pursuit of in 2007/2008 (or in your last Personal One Year).  This is your chance to step up to the plate and follow through by building a strong foundation on which to make real your aspirations.  The Universe says, “Sure, you want the idea of it, the excitement of the out of reach, but when it comes down to it are you willing to put in the time and the work to make it happen?  Prove it!”  Can you persist despite obstacles?  Do you posses the willpower and the drive to follow through even without immediate results?  If you can, the coming year will bring future prosperity and bring you one step closer to realizing your goals.

A financial opportunity presents itself this month and it is up to you to cultivate it.  Ideas often come in and out during Mercury Retrograde, so be sure to keep a journal to jot down or sketch them for future reference.  This is a time of foreshadowing so pay attention to what seems irrelevant at this time, it may just be your next pursuit!

October 2010 Numerology

As of this month I have begun including your own Personal Month numbers.  To discover your Personal Month, first calculate your Personal Year by adding Birth Month + Birth Day + Current Year.
Example, a birthday of March 31st would be 3+3+1+2+0+1+0= 10 and then 1+0= 1
Then you add your Personal Year, in this case a 1, to the current month–October is the 10th month so we add  1+0+1= 2 Personal Month

Universal Numbers 1 and 4, the 8 of Pentacles, the 8 of Cups and Justice (XI)

The Universal Number for the month is 4 and October always has a 1 present, being the 10th month.  This equates to a new beginning and hard work for all.  This is the perfect time to be laying the groundwork for new plans and ideas to be set into motion and you may very well move in the right direction for something you have already been working on.  Things may get moving quickly for a time as new information and opportunities arise, but you need to remain grounded and follow through with what you have set out to accomplish.  Hard work and courage are needed this month, especially if you are in the process of switching jobs or careers, or are moving on from a relationship.  This can be a wonderful fresh start for you!  With a number of planets, and the sun, in Libra this month you have poise and added charm which can help you at work and in your home.  Communication and relationships are on the forefront right now, both romantic and business, so be prepared for a make or break time, change is due.

This month we must have the courage and dedication to do what must be done to restore balance and harmony in our relationships, our body, mind and spirit, and our overall lives.  We have been residing on one side of the scale for too long and the time has come to balance things out.  Not all of these changes will feel good, or desired, but all in all, everyone will receive a fair piece.  This is a wonderful time to instill those qualities in yourself you considered last month, say a new exercise regime, new diet, or new spiritual goals, or leaving behind a relationship (or career) that just isn’t working any longer.  This is a wonderful time to make new contacts who can show you a new way.

The World (XXI)

This month is a fresh new beginning, after this year’s worth of letting go and moving on, things finally work out.  You can see the dawn breaking in the horizon, the calm after the storm when the rainbow crosses the dark grey skies.  You have come a long way on your journey and are now able to move forward.  Travel is very likely, and also the idea of teaching or public speaking comes to the forefront.  You may begin giving lectures on what you have learned (either life experience or Master’s Degree, Master of your Trade, etc.), or decide to become a teacher, or you may just be called upon to give advice to a loved one or at work.  Either way, you are being acknowledged at this time for your achievements.   This is a favorable time of moving forward into your new direction.  The challenges of this time are having the courage to do so, as your life is going through a major transformation, what was will no longer be.

For those with a TWO Personal Month (with a 1 Personal Year):

7 of Wands

This will prove to be a difficult month, at work or in a relationship.  Someone will be challenging you and you will have to stand your ground, protecting what is rightfully yours.  For those who are in an unhealthy relationship, this will be the time to get out.  Divorce is possible, or going to court for another matter, and you may not be completely satisfied with the outcome, but it will be a fair judgment.  You may be feeling extra sensitive and under appreciated right now, try not to take things so personally and speak up when something is making you feel hurt (without lashing out).  You may also be feeling as though all of your plans are falling through as others are poking holes in your ideas and obstacles are becoming apparent.  Take the advice in stride and use it to improve the foundation which will increase your overall chances of success.  Things take time to come together, and even longer to be just right.  Mistakes will be made, learn from them and appreciate that you are being shown a better way.  You will come out on top if you proceed with faith and courage.

For those with a THREE Personal Month (with a 2/11 Personal Year):

This month will be chaotic, for sure.  There will be many ups and downs; days where you feel like you could take on the world, when you are very intuitive and spot-on with your advice and conversational skills, and days where you feel like there is no point to it all.  The positives of this month are being at a creative and intuitive high, and the negatives are when you are feeling more cynical and sharp-tongued.  There may be a third party involved in your relationship right now, someone may be tagging along from your past either in your heart/mind or appearing in your real life, or maybe even an over-involved family member (likely to be a woman).  Either way, your personal relationships are likely to be a little rocky this month bouncing between complete elation and sensual creativity to jealousy and pettiness.  Be sure to speak your mind after giving it some good thought, and look within your heart to decipher how you really feel.  As far as business/work goes, you may be on cloud nine from a raise you’ve been offered, or you may be feeling insecure as if you are not being appreciated for the true crafts(wo)man you are.

For those with a FOUR Personal Month (with a 3 Personal Year):

2 of Wands

There is a choice to be made and you must stick with it!  There are two distinct paths or options to decide between and you need to choose one and follow through.  Moving on can be difficult, and especially moving into uncharted territories, yes you may be moving in a completely different direction than you previously anticipated (or planned for).  It is a good thing you are quick on your feet this year with creative energy, you are equipped to handle the surprises headed your way.  Take some time to assess the situation fully, reflect on what has worked (or failed) in the past and look at what skills you have already under your belt to be able to handle just a situation like this.  The decision may be so difficult because neither option is obviously a better choice than the other, so you must balance your heart and mind, using your instinct and your knowledge to make a wise decision.  There is also a third possibility where the best option is to somehow join forces, making two incomplete halves into one fantastic new concept!  In relationships it may be about finding common ground and meeting in middle, with neither completely satisfied; that is, in essence, the idea of compromise.

For those with a FIVE Personal Month (with a 4/22 Personal Year):

King of Wands

Wonderful ideas will be floating around just waiting for you to take hold and make it your own!  Now is the time to be decisive and direct and to hold your ground, stand firm for what you feel strongly about.  Potent energy is abound for you to take hold of, make those changes in your life you have been waiting to instill.  Your charm is on this month and you will find yourself the center of attention on many occasions, rise to the event and you may see wonderful new opportunities come of it.  There is exciting energy around you and you should use it to your advantage to create sweeping changes in your world.  You can turn a new leaf here and finally let go of that which has been holding you back.  This month is about freedom and movement, change and transformation, self-expression and excitement!  Just don’t get too caught up in pretty shiny things, cut through the illusions of greener grass and work with what you actually have.  You don’t need something that you don’t currently have, you need to use what you already have to make it work for you.  Let go of the illusions that are holding you back.

For those with a SIX Personal Month (with a 5 Personal Year):

Ten of Swords

This is a difficult month, the culmination of your challenges this year.  You have faced many difficulties this year and chaos has reigned, you may feel like you just can’t get your footing.  By the end of this month I see that you will be able to begin moving past all of these difficulties, as you cannot get further than the bottom, the only way out is up.  Emotions will be running high, and there may be a family crisis, an emergency surgery or a feeling of being stabbed in the back by a friend/lover.  Alternatively it is possible that you are coming out of a period of illness or a dark time.  Use this time to seek clarity within, strength and personal resolve are key to surviving this time.  Sometimes things just don’t work out the way you were hoping.  The positive of this month are that you may just not be seeing things as they truly are, you may not be in on the big secret as to what wonderful thing will one day made out of this negative, so take a deep breath and trust in life and its plan.

For those with a SEVEN Personal Month (with a 6 Personal Year):

There is news on the way regarding money or a change in luck, health or status, and it is likely to be positive.  This is a time when you will be feeling especially self-reflective and may have ideas about making a big change in your life, letting go of that which is outdated.  You have seeds to be planted, work to accomplish and research to do.  Time to go back to the drawing board and make much needed changes, preparing for a new and exciting mode of business.  You may be feeling excited about moving on towards your goals of going back to school, either as a student or as an instructor.  You are either working towards mastering your craft, or have already mastered it and wish to share your knowledge with others, either way, the time is favorable to lay the plans for this move.  Look within yourself to decide the next move, and don’t be hasty!   Now is the time for planting the seeds and preparing for the coming transition.

For those with an EIGHT Personal Month (with a 7 Personal Year):

Three of Cups

Long awaited money may begin flowing in again, this year you have had just enough to get by, but this month will have something to celebrate!  There will be a joyful gathering this month, either a wedding, baby shower or a reunion of sorts.  It is likely to be spent with people from your past and those who will be in your future, a coming together of two parts of yourself.  This will also offer the opportunity to muster the courage to say the things you wish you would have said before, to seize the day!  Learn from your past mistakes and live fully now in your present.  Business is likely to be favorable and so are personal relationships, but this is a direct result of the effort you have been putting out, there won’t be much to celebrate if you have been too self-involved, greedy, lazy, jealous or stubborn.  Enjoy being social this month, after the vast introspection you have been doing this year, it ought to be a welcome breath of fresh air.

For those with a NINE Personal Month (with an 8 Personal Year):

This month you will have keen insight and the ability to cut through illusion.  You will bring new ideas to the table and help put them to work, change is in order and you have just the right idea!  It is possible that there is someone else who will come to you with these insights, and you may be the person putting them to work, either way new things will be happening.  There is likely to be a shift in your course, a venture will come to an end which will set the tone for the next year.  It can be extremely difficult to change one’s ways or to take the first step in a new and uncharted direction, but look within for the strength to move forward and you will be successful.  Sometimes things are out of your hands, we are all dealt the hand we are dealt, and sometimes you simply have to adjust, this is one of those times.  Life is happening around you and you need to be adaptable and quick-minded to keep up.  Look forward to the cleansing your life will be receiving and be open to the changes which are coming.

September is going to be a high impact month!  Overall, September is always the ninth month of the year, so there is always that period of ending, culmination, and new beginnings as we set off into Fall.  August and September are the months of harvest and reaping what you’ve sown.  This month the Universal Number is 3, which is a highly charged and creative time.  3 is excitable, optimistic, social and talkative (just as the Universal Year is), but with those highs come the lows of feeling out of place, depressed, misunderstood, and lacking inspiration.  Remember that 3 is a crowd, so be cautious of new information coming to light this month which may cause distress, trust will be tested at this time.  Be careful of what you say because people may just take it the wrong way or pass it on this month, between the excitable 3 and Mercury’s Retrograde.

This month provides a wonderful opportunity for Virgos with the New Moon in Virgo on the 8th, and Mercury returning to its direct station on the 12th, you have the chance to put your ducks in a row for the coming year while the sun is in your sign.  To everyone, go back to the drawing board, double check your numbers and your plans, and take care in building the foundation of your new beginnings.  Cut ties with that which no longer serves you: people, attitudes, and oversight.  You have the opportunity to build your dreams into reality right now, but it all begins with the first step, getting your ideas from your mind and begin putting them into action.  Draw up your plans, journal, and do your soul searching to decide your next step.

On the 22nd we have the Autumnal Equinox and the sun moving into Libra while the 23rd brings us a Full Moon in Aries, a potent combination of for those who wish to take a grand leap of faith into the vast unknown!  Now, that being said, while Aries is excitable and ambitious, we are cautioned to know what we are getting into before moving forward, so be sure you have  done your research and are well equipped during the first half of the month in order to make full use of this time.

This month offers a grand transformation, first we spend time looking within and are taking in vast quantities of information, and then we can use it in order to create the best outcome.  With this creative flow available to us, we have charm and youthful ambition on our side as we strive to reach for new and better things.  Whether you are working on a self-transformation, a new business idea or revamping an old one, now is a wonderful time to put it out there and prepare for a wonderful opportunity.  If you stick with your inner and outer work, you should see the fruits of your labor in about 9 months.  Ha!  Sounds like a baby, right?  Well, that is possible, too, but really anything you begin now will likely turn out in that time frame.  Good luck to you!

Mercury Retrograde in Virgo

It’s about that time again, for Mercury to take its backwards jaunt across our skies and muss things up a bit!  OK, well, it isn’t so much that it musses things up, so much as we often fight its message: Tie up your loose ends!

This month it retrogrades in Virgo, a sign it rules (it also rules Gemini) so for us Virgos and you Geminis there will be a certain potency to this time as it is calling you most of all.  This can also be true for those with Virgo/Gemini as a Rising sign or Moon sign, or even prominent in your chart.

So, our lovely little planet of communication is moving backwards, what does it mean exactly?  Well, it effects each person a little differently depending on where it appears in your chart, but in a nutshell the basic way to approach any Mercury Retrograde is to meditate, slow down and rethink things.  This is generally not a time for bold new ideas that you must put into action TODAY, it is more about going back to the drawing board and picking up the pieces of where you left off before moving forward.  This is not to say that you cannot ever begin something in a Mercury Retrograde, rather you should be aware that it may present special challenges:  there will be some sort of delay, some new information and a change of plans, or getting in over your head, and these same difficulties will often arise at the following MR, and the one after that, until there is resolution.  Normally opportunities that come up during this time prove to be a test for you, do you have all of your ducks in a row–because this is not the time to take a blind leap of faith, this is the time to be prepared and well researched!

Mercury Retrograde is often the most talked about of the planetary retrogrades because it happens every 3-4 months, and that means that sometimes (as with this year) we have FOUR Mercury Rx’s in one year!  Communication has grown and shifted with each new generation, offering new technology and means in which to communicate information:  letters, computers, telephones, cell phones, texting, email, all of which have been known to go awry during these time periods.  So, back up your computer, and choose your words carefully because it is an easy time to be misunderstood.  The biggest mistake we make in Mercury Retrograde (time and time again) is to ASSUME, or rather make an ASS out of U and ME.  For some reason we choose to short-cut around conversation, assuming that the other party is on the same page, and they assume that they are on the same page, and when it comes time to deliver; you were definitely NOT on the same page.   So, check your notes and be sure to speak clearly and directly.

When it comes to relationships, we often hit rocky periods during this time, as mentioned above the assumptions we make can lead to arguments, but also this time period is often wrought with self-esteem and insecurity issues.  We just can’t seem to think clearly, we may be running late for work or get stood up, or get a message that we simply take the wrong way, or we are left feeling misunderstood as if you just stuck your foot in your mouth!  It can be a viscous cycle when we begin to over analyze (yes, Virgo, I’m talking to You) and this can be the main peril of Mercury gone awry.

So, Jasmin, what can I do to survive this time? Remember the key elements of Mercury Rx:

Delay, delay, delay; accept that things may not go as you’ve planned; beware of communication mishaps and assumptions; get back to the drawing board and tie up loose ends; build proper foundations; new information comes in; insecurities run high, so be sure to clear the air; check in, think before you speak and speak clearly; back up your computer and try to communicate less via technology; leave early and keep your sense of humor about you!

Some of the most ridiculous things can happen during Mercury Retrograde and it really is laughable when it comes down to it…at first it is kind of silly, then almost painful to watch and then in the grand ridiculousness of it all your only option is to laugh.  Mercury is a friend of Irony and abides by a law called Murphy; so, when Life’s crazy idiosyncrasies happen, just laugh at yourself and smile at the Universe’s sense of humor.

August 2010 Numerology

Happy Birthday Leo!  This August is jam-packed, so I hope you’ve been working hard this year!  August is the 8th month of the year which means it always has the influence of 8 which is a karmic number carrying with it much ebb and flow.  If you have been working hard all year August is usually when you will reap the benefits, but if you have been slacking at all you will often find this month to be particularly challenging.  This year August carries with it the added 11/2 influence meaning that this year has been especially potent for our relationships (both romantic and otherwise) and communication.  Work on being more empathetic, compassionate and choosing words more carefully to reap the benefits of true communication, rather than responding defensively or offensively.  11 is a very spiritually potent number, combined with the karmic 8, be prepared to meet those whose souls are intertwined with your own; and remember that soul mates appear in many forms as those who are here to challenge and push us, some to guide us, and others to love and bring that feeling of completion or “home”.

Our relationships will be put to the test this month, so try to keep your patience about you.  If you make it through this month you are better for it, so rise to the occasion and dig deep into your being to emerge into a new reality.  Dreams will be especially potent so try to write them down for some deeper insights to be revealed.  If you are not in a relationship you will likely have a passionate encounter this month, and if you are in a relationship be prepared for emotional turmoil (either a healing cry/talk/argument/ending, or a rekindling of passions).

Also in the cards for this month is that you will be on the receiving end of news about a change in job or income for you (or a partner).  For many this will be wonderful news!

June 2010 Numerology and Astrology

This month has been a doozy for me and I’m sure for you as well, hence the delay in writing.  So, without further delay, here we go:

June is always the 6th month in our calendar, so with it comes the influences of home and family; if you add this to our Universal 3 Year and we’ve got an overall influence of 9.  3-6-9.  Social, creative, family oriented, home-body, endings, letting go, turning over a new leaf.  We may have had to let go of family members, or at least reach new understandings; whether this be our mother, father, child or lover, relationships will not have left this month unchanged in one manner or another.  There will be choices, take the high road or the low road, the proverbial fork in the road detour.  Maybe what you had planned wasn’t what was planned for you.

This month it is likely that you have had to extend a financial offer to someone who is in need, reach out to your community if possible, in any way.  Many people hear the word “community” and they are concerned that it means the entire town they live in, so they think the work is too much, but really, community is about people coming together, sharing food, work, and even childcare, so look to your neighbors and extend a hand and you will be reaching out to your own personal community.

It is also very likely that this month you will be making changes to your home to make it the place you hoped it would be.  Bring in some color, rearrange the furniture, look up some Feng Shui tips and do some space clearing and Solstice cleaning!  Speaking of which, Happy Summer Solstice to you all!  I hope that you had a chance to think about that which no longer serves you, and look to the future for what you would like to bring into your lives.  If not, you still have plenty of opportunity for that this Saturday (the 26th of June) when we will have a Lunar Eclipse in the busy sign of Capricorn.  For many this will be a time of letting go (waxing off) those aspects of our lives which are not working for us.  With Capricorn, it usually has to do with business and financial dealings, or at the very least, the overall approach that we take in our lives.  To get a better idea of how this eclipse will effect you, think back to 1992; if you are too young to remember 1992 you can use 2002.  Also, I recommend:  www.horoscopeswithin.com

May Numerology

Well, I suppose it stands true to say that April showers bring May flowers, because in April there was a lot of delay (and surprises) within each effort put forth, and a change of plan was certainly in order, here in May our fruits of labor truly begin to blossom.  Mercury goes Direct beginning May 11th although we still feel the Retrograde effects for a few more weeks, we’ll begin coming out of the confusion and delays of last month in the first week of May.  This month is always a FIVE (since it is the fifth month  in our calendar) but this THREE year brings the month of May to an EIGHT, so change and karma are in order.  If you are focusing on career, business, or finances at this time expect change, be sure to go with the flow during this mutable time.  8 is also the number of karma, so what goes around comes around this month, whatever you have been working on (career, relationships, self) you will reap what you have sown so if you’ve been focused and driven you should see a wonderful return, but if you have not been putting forth much effort, well, you get what you put in.

Spin the Wheel of Fortune and Fate this month, take chances and try a new approach as the end of May approaches.  This month is fluid and changeable, and remember that we still feel Mercury’s Retrograde effects, so do your best to research and prepare, tie up those loose ends so when it goes Direct on the 11th you are ready to roll with the punches.

Surprises are in order, so don’t be too shocked if you get a job offer in another city/state, or you may pack up and take an unexpected trip, or maybe your car needs a tune-up (no one wants THAT kind of surprise, eh?).   There is a fork in the road this month, prepare the best you can!
